I couldn't agree more - although, if past seasons are any indication, the first couple of legs should knock the perky out of them (assuming they are perky, which has yet to be seen).
I don't know. I can imagine these two being the next double d's more than the pageant ladies. I've known too many cheerleaders that were reasonably intelligent, but had no grace under pressure at all and could be reduced to slobbering idiots if faced with the kind of KF that TAR is so famous for. Pageants are all about pressure when you get into the "big leagues".

Don't let their Southern Drawls fool you. These former co-captains of the University of South Carolina cheerleading squad are highly competitive and just might have what it takes to be the first female team to win The Amazing Race.

I just hope they're not too perky. Perky makes me want to beat my head in. Few cheerleaders manage to avoid annoying perkiness (obvious exception: TAR3's Andrew).

Me too, Mama Tiger. If they are clones of Holly King, I shall have to pay for a new TV set, the old one being destroyed by an extremely heavy object.
ETA: For those who don't know who Holly King is, be thankful!

i am sure they were partially cast because they were cheerleaders. i wouldnt be surprised if they were encouraged by production to be a bit perky. hopefully it will just be more like excited and fun loving. i can't wait for new season. looks like a great cast.

I went to grad school at USC and lived in Columbia for two years. I cannot even express how geeked I am about this team. Whether they turn out to be typical Southern cheerleader-types ("a bit perky" would be understatement of the year in that case) or really awesome women, either will be extremely fun to watch.

No, no, no. "Perky" (even if it's just "a bit") would so not be fun to watch. Not in the least. The only thing worse than perky people, is bubbly people. *shudder*

Not to be the devil's advocate or anything, but what's to say they won't end up being Danielle & Dani with different accents?

yes. pageant gals will do anything -as it is all about the win to them. i am sure the pageant gals will be good competitors. i just still prefer the less pageant/cheerleader gals or the single moms.
