Really.....that's a plus for you? I can't stand the pageant contestants, so it take quite a bit for them to work themselves out of the red for me. Christie did it, because she was a fierce competitor, but Nicole was dead weight. Honestly if they banned pageants from the world, I'd wake up happier each day.
As for this team, I think she's going to be dead weight as well, but he'll be pretty strong. If he can motivate her the right way, then they'll do well. However, if he starts barking orders, she might just fold and they'll get nowhere. I think this is one of the teams that the rule of 6 will hurt.
Yes, it's a plus for me, mainly because I'm also a pageant girl (or I guess you'd call me a former pageant girl at the moment, since I haven't competed in awhile).
And I'd have to disagree about Nicole, but to each their own. To be honest, though, sometimes I wish they wouldn't say if one of the contestants has any former pageant titles, because that seems to be a check against her.
I find it interesting that the article now has been deleted. The cached version is still available online. A quote from the article says-
"McCorkle will be teamed with her former boyfriend Ron Young, a former Iraq War POW.
McCorkle worked as a legislative correspondent for SC Sen. Jim DeMint prior to her participation in The Amazing Race."
Does anyone think CBS had a problem with the article?
Ron & Kelly - Team DRAMA!!!
Ron & Kelly - Team DRAMA!!!
More long distance daters (meh). Hhe's a POW and she's Miss South Carolina. Not that I don't like them; but by reading their bio and watching the video they're just very.... too... very.... Much? I'm guessing nothing comes easy for them.

From what I can remember from their CBS video when I watched it the other day, travel exhausts her and it takes awhile for her to recover. She's also sensitive, while he falls into barking out orders military mode.
Oh, this bodes well.

I was prepared to pre-hate them, but after watching the video I think I'm going to like them. He's definitely someone to watch out for -- nothing the Race throws at him can even begin to touch the stress and exhaustion and what-have-you that being a POW did. And I get the impression that while she hasn't been outdoorsy, she's not going to be a pushover.

Here is an article about them.
A select quote:
Hoo boy. I hopetheir "whole experience" lasts about 2 episodes. But they actually seem rather strong.
A select quote:
"God taught me so much about myself through the whole experience," said McCorkle. "I am really excited about the show."

I read an article about her, might be the one a few posts up (I didn't register for that one), where they mention that she did TAR with her former boyfriend Ron. I wonder if the race is the reason for the "former"???

I vote for during! We haven't had an in-race dumping for a while now. Adam and Rebecca don't count, because now it's clear they're in an on-again/off-again cycle. I think the last dumping we had was TAR4's Cindy dumping Russhole, but they didn't even seem together enough for a dumping. Then Wil "officially" gave up on Tara towards the end of TAR2. But nothing tops Lenny and Karen.
It could happen here, though. It could make these two more fun to watch, if they don't overdo the bickering. On the other hand, if they break up, they're likely to bicker first. Damn! Now I have to pre-hate them.
