Survivor

Yes, we watch TV. Some of us watch a lot of it. Talk about it here.

There are also very clear rules against two things we saw Russell Hantz do during the last two seasons: communicating with members of the other tribe and taking and/or damaging personal property.
So, Russell should have been kicked off during his first season. Though, to be fair with regards to the first rule, didn't Boston Rob break that one during his first all stars when he talked to Lex and convinced him to keep Amber around. And, IMO that's not a big deal. But when Russell went around destroying property, that is a big deal. (heh, except when Sandra destroyed his hat - that was awesome. And, it is different IMO. What he did hurt his tribe. When she did it, it really didn't affect the game at all).

Interesting. The whole "We can film you even when you're naked or going to the bathroom" is a dealbreaker for me.

And I still think that whole purple rock rule where the non-tied contestants get booted is ridiculous. Fire building seems like a much more appropriate and fair way to break the tie. I guess Becky and Sundra ruined that for everybody.

That's clearly not a rules package from this past season, since they say a 7-person jury and 2 finalists.

Who knows what other rules listed here no longer exist and/or have been modified?

So with two seasons filming in Nicaragua back to back I am wondering what the theme of Nicaraguas second season will be. Hopefully not bringing people back already but maybe something like Exile Island? Anyone heard?

I heard one rumor of a Rob led tribe vs Team Russell kinda showdown for Season 22. Don't buy it though.

THIS JUST IN…

…from CBS Entertainment

LOS ANGELES - July 28, 2010 — The next edition of SURVIVOR will be a battle for the ages…literally. The 20 new castaways will be divided into two Tribes of 10: Young vs. Old. The Espada Tribe, made up of individuals over the age of 40, must prove they have the life experience and knowledge that will ultimately help them Outwit and Outlast their younger competitors. The La Flor Tribe, consisting of individuals 30 years of age and younger, will have to use their youth and vitality to Outplay and ultimately Outlast their elders. Who will prevail: youth or maturity?

SURVIVOR: NICARAGUA premieres in its new night this fall on Wednesday, Sept. 15 — returning to the time period where the series' first season aired in the summer of 2000.

I also heard a rumour that John Madden is one of the contestants this season. Which...??? I don't know if it's true or not but I'm hoping not. Unless they give him a telestrator to draw pictures on his tribemates, I have no interest in seeing that man run around on my tv screen half naked.

I didn't hear John Madden, but I heard Jimmy Johnson, former Dallas Cowboys coach and Fox Sports commentator.

That could be it. It was just a rumour I heard. Either way, my reaction is the same.

I'll be interested to see how his perfectly spherical haircut does out on the island.

So, I haven't been a fan of the three-person finale...usually one of the three gets no votes anyway. The two-person finale has been criticized for being too advantageous to the winner of the final challenge (I don't necessarily agree-I've seen some staggeringly bad choices *cough*Lill*cough*), so I had this idea. It came to me when thinking about a possible new at-home Survivor for this year, but I think it could work for TV Survivor as well, tell me what you think.

For our home-versions, we have an even number of jurors, so typically we don't count the first person voted out, to eliminate the possibility of a tie. But what if we keep all the jurors and have a final 3-person endurance challenge. The first person out becomes the final jury member but the last person out gets to choose one juror whose vote will be discarded. It gives you a reason to want to win the endurance, but it only affects one vote (plus, what if you choose someone who would have voted for you?).

Ewww, Kelly S. can just go away right now. Anyone who voluntarily compares themselves to that twit Elisabeth Hasselback is a waste of space.

Ok and, not being sarcastic for once, but did they mess up the photos on the site? Because Shannon's bio says how pretty she is but when you look at the picture...that's a dude, right?

It'll be interesting to see how long Jimmy Johnson lasts. I would think the fact that he's already a zillionaire will work against him.

A dude who thinks he's pretty, apparently, or at least that he's prettier than Russell, which is the line I saw in his bio.
