Other shows

Yes, we watch TV. Some of us watch a lot of it. Talk about it here.

Did anyone catch Vixen on the premier ep of Sheer Genius last week? She was one of the models.

I thought that was her but I wasn't sure. She's already pretty, but her make-under really showed off her face.

has anyone seen Kell on Earth on Bravo yet? I think it's only 4 eps in.

It's about a PR company in NYC who mostly does runway/fashion shows. This week's ep is priceless - a chic goes on a job interview, lands the job, Tweets about it and gets fired all in a 20 minute timespan. Hilarious!

Did anyone else watch The Bridge? It's on CTV and seems to be a Canadian production (it's obviously set in Toronto though they haven't named the city yet) but the credits imply it's a CBS co-production so I wonder if it'll make it to TV south of the border as well. They were promoting it heavily during the Olympics, so I gave in and watched (though weirdly, when I tuned in initially it seems to be a rerun of Flashpoint, so recorded the west coast feed which had the correct show).
It stars Aaron Douglas (known to BSG fans as the Chief) as a cop who is taking on/trying to clean up the corruption within the police culture/hierarchy (leading me to wonder if the storyline was inspired by the mess that has been the Toronto police system in recent years).

I found it online and OMG I LOVED IT! And I'm usually not one to watch cop shows. I hope they do a crossover thing with Flashpoint sometime down the road. I wish CBS had space on their schedule for both of them so I don't have to wait till what looks like summer at the earliest, to see them in HD.

I thought you'd like it, Jer. I too am not usually a fan of cop shows, but this one looks different/promising.
I haven't actually watched more than a few minutes of Flashpoint, but if I ever have time (ha, ha) maybe I'll check it out.

I am so excited that I am finally going to get Trueblood this weekend. It better live up to its rep! I have nothing at all supernatural on my viewing schedule otherwise.

I put season one on my zip list and they sent me the first dvd so I may get my first taste of True Blood as well this weekend. I'm thinking that it couldn't possibly live up to the hype but I guess we'll see!

Just be aware with True Blood the first 2 or 3 episodes are the worst of the show. The accents are horrible and you will wonder what the hype is about. Keep watching because the minute Alexander Skarsgard appears it gets so much better and by the end of Season 1 I was completely hooked and obsessed with the show.

Last night I had the chance to attend a local premiere of the HBO miniseries "The Pacific", which is produced by the same crew that did "Band of Brothers". The first episode was really, really good.

is anyone else watching Undercover Boss which comes on right after TAR?

It's really actually pretty good. My favorite has been the Hooters CEO.

I hate that show. I saw the garbage company one and the Hooters one.

I find UB just a little too "perfect" for my taste...out of the thousands of employees, he always coincidentally finds these fascinating cases. And the end when the whole company joins hands and sings Kumbaya is a little much for me as well.
