I just remembered there was kind of a Romber backlash around the time of TAR All-Stars (or was it the wedding special?) so I had the feeling there were anti-Rob sentiments. I like Rob...I originally never saw him on Survivor, my first exposure was TAR7 and I liked him. Since then, I've seen Survivor All-Stars on have become a Rob fan. I find him entertaining. Especially after TAR All-Stars, where Amber was kind of pointing out his BS and he seemed to take it well, kind of admitting that a lot of it is a front. I hope he goes far.
Survivor
Re: Survivor
For some reason, I still like Colby. Can't explain why.
I actually have been watching the episodes online (because I wanted to see the show finally show what an ass James is) and I actually liked seeing Rob on tv again. It seems like forever since he's been on a reality show.

It's a few days later and I'm still laughing at Cirie. For someone who's this supposed great strategist, she really fucked up. She should have just let them vote out Candice. I mean, it went with her "Anyone but me." strategy. What a dumb ass.

Re: Survivor
On the contrary, I think most of us are quite fond of him

I think it was more anti-Amber sentiments. I still think she's useless.

Re: Survivor
Another Rob fan here. I love how he has been changed by events in life. It's almost like he's an adult now that he's a parent!
I'm was kinda surprised the villans didn't throw the challenge just to get rid of Russell.

I always liked Rob, too. He amuses me.
Do the Villains actively not like Russell? None of them really know him, but I don't think he's completely alienating them yet. They don't trust him, but they're not gunning for him, either. At this point in the game, they should be targeting the weakest or the millionaires.

Re: Survivor
I think that what has really changed their attitude about Russell was when they all agreed whoever goes after the immunity idol gets voted out next .. then off he went. I think it pissed off most folks just because he was really telling them to f++k off regarding the finder of the idol.
but I could be wrong ...

Re: Survivor
Though, from what the others said from the last season, to spend any time with Russell means to dislike him. That's why they kept him around - they knew he would easily beaten in the finale. And, I think he thought while filming this, he had won his last season so his ego must have been higher than normal.

Re: Survivor
Count me in as a Rob lover! I was one of the Romber people at that TARcon in MSG where there was a definite divide in the room. Of course, I took a client who was anti-Romber so I could expense the evening and it wasnt a pretty sight!
Im rooting for the villians too. And, Russell must go. Loved him last season when he kept finding the idols with no clue, but his arrogance took its toll. Now, every time he diaries about how superior he is, I gag! Rob telling Coach to man up was hysterical.
Sorry to see Cirie go so soon, but it was a dumb move.

Re: Survivor
Rob is winning me over with his performance here...Going in I felt that between two previous Survivors PLUS two Amazing Races, on top of the televised Wedding, I was just done with him.
And he provided the funniest moment so fare on the series IMO in the first episode when Jeff asked how he felt being on the Villains team and he replied in all innocence "I'm a villain?"

Re: Survivor
I've always found Rob entertaining and some one I didn't mind watching on my TV, but this time around I'm actually liking him as a person. As someone else has already mentioned, maturity wears on him well. I too loved his man-up speach to Coach, and will love it even more if he awf t's Russell.

Re: Survivor
What did Coach specifically do to be qualified as a Villian?
Great day after interview up with Cirie on CBS.

Re: Survivor
I think they're using the term "villain" to be an all-encompassing word for "douche, asshole, arrogant prick, mean, stupid, deluded, dislikeable" etc. Coach didn't do anything actually evil but he was very smug and arrogant and definitely full of crap half the time. I don't think he was so much as villain as he was annoying. Although, I admit, this time around he's such a joke, I actually find him amusing. Only in small doses though.

Re: Survivor
The man claimed he had cancer to get out of work to do the show.
That's good enough for me; I've been fighting cancer for the last 10 years and have a real problem with people trivializing it for a TV show.
