TAR in the Media
Re: TAR in the Media
I agree about Tina & Dallas-better choice. I think what got me about Jaime was not only that she was an awful person, but she acknowledged that she was awful and kept on doing it. Laughed about it, in fact. At least someone who's just plain ol' horrible usually doesn't get that they're bad-there's a small possibility that if they see themselves on tv that they'll straighten up. She's horrible and goes right back to doing it because she doesn't care that she's a bitch to people for no good reason.

Re: TAR in the Media
I think we got saddled with Margie and Luke again because of the whole conflict with the sisters. In terms of unfinished business, Dallas & Tina would have been a much better choice.
Hee! Seriously, I don't get it! Why the heck were these two invited back?
By the way, the forums for TAR 18 are now open so we should probably move this discussion over there.
Heh, my main memory of them is actually a memory of M. Giant over at TWOP complaining that their perfect personalities were giving him nothing to work with for his recaps, and threatening to rename Kris as "Hector the Corrector" because the only slightly entertaining thing he did was to regularly correct Amanda's bad grammar.

Re: TAR in the Media
MSNBC has a story about the dumbest moves on reality TV and there's a clip of some from TAR (it's the 6th item), including Rob's "earlier flight" joke that backfired on him in TAR7.

Heh, I'd forgotten all about that. Rob and his big mouth.
(Grrr! Judges picking a winner shouldn't be considered a "dumb move". Or maybe I'm just bitter because I just accidentally spoiled myself for the winner of Project Runway. But seriously, judges picking a winner you didn't like doesn't make it a dumb move, stupid writer!)

(PR. It really was stupid of the judges - besides Michael Kors and Nina, no one thought that Gretchen should have won. It wasn't just the fans - it was Tim, Heidi, the other judge, the known universe.....the backlash was immense. It made the show look really bad.)

All right, which one of y'all is Liz Lemon?
(Last night's 30 Rock, Liz explains why she hasn't had time to come up with a career Plan B: "There have been many seasons of Amazing Race and I must go online and comment on them.")

Re: TAR in the Media
I know!! I got so excited I actually yelled "HEY! SHOUT OUT!!" at the tv (and scared the cat).
That's normal, right...?
[ETA: of course, I also scared the cat last night with an impressively robust belch (I'm a lay-dee!), so I think he may just be a bit on edge these days. I'm guessing it's the return of The Birds That Torture Him From The Fire Escape that comes along with the start of spring.]

One of my favorite 30 Rock episodes is when Liz is convince her neighbor is a terrorist. He actually was doing his audition video for TAR! Fred Armisen was hillarious!!!!

Yeah I'm pretty sure I read somewhere on this forum that its a 2 hr finale, so thats obviously 2 episodes together rather than just an uber-leg.

installment 20 confirmed for a spring 2012 showing!
Although it hasn't been updated, looks like they are doing some casting calls in June and July.
